Does anyone use the phone anymore? I don’t think Gen Z seem massively keen, preferring nimble thumbs and a hefty mobile data package. But for anyone that ever had the excruciating awkwardness of having their parents declare there’s “a boy on the phone for you” and then hovering about the landline while you conversed (self-consciously), that definitely gives you a certain respect for the phone. You’ve earned your stripes.
A corporate career traditionally involved the politics of emails and cc’ing. How I chuckle when I remember all those email chains that never really got anywhere. Often because someone senior had back-to-back meetings and couldn’t respond until about 8:30pm. And then there’d be an awkward person who’d say ‘no’ to whatever was being suggested so you’d walk over to their desk and explain the situation and they’d miraculously be on board.
Yes, it’s good to talk. A conversation on the phone can get a problem explained and solved in minutes whereas on email it’s the pauses in progress that can really stress everyone out. And that’s before we consider regretful messages sent in the heat of the moment (ouch) and WhatsApp autocorrect typos that leave everyone scratching their heads. Teams, Slack… all have the same perils.
So we’ve made it easier for you to talk to us. Behold, our new phone number:
01753 927007
It’s my favourite communication method so don’t hesitate to give us a call to run something past us, get a quote for a project or ask us what you might think is a really silly question. We’d love to hear from you.
By the way, it is surprisingly difficult to choose a new business phone number – so we went for a hint of James Bond at the end 🔫.
Have a great day
